Good

Liked: Great facilities, tasty food and relaxing atmosphere.
Disliked: While appreciating innovation, both the cocktails menu and food menu lack a nod to a traditional option or 2 to cater to an older or plainer eater.Particularly with the cocktail menu, you really would want to be getting a superb cocktail every time for the price and tbh, having a mojito etc... on the menu would be nice. On 3 different occasions during our 1 night stay, service was not satisfactory... - in the glasshouse (not busy at all at the time) it took nearly 40 minutes to get 4 cocktails and we were 15 minutes late to dinner (cocktails brought up in hand) as a result- a wrong main course was brought out to one of my party, resulting in a much later main course coming out to her when we were nearly finished... the staff were very apologetic and of course misunderstandings can happen, but I would have thought it fitting at least that the person in question to have a dessert or coffee on the house - I know that other customers would not have been as understanding as we were- at breakfast the following morning, 2 of us ordered an additional coffee from the menu. We needed to ask 3 times, took nearly 30 mins to come...we were actually about to leaveWe've been coming to the Montonotte since 2017 at least once if not twice a year, on a girlie get away. I have come on a number of occasions with my husband. We really love what ye are trying to do. Over these years the prices have risen substantially across the board and the hotel is certainly marketed as being not just your average hotel/ at the luxury end. For this to be justifiable, basic things like service need to be impeccable or, if not, that there is an acknowledgement of same. This comes top down from management.

Expensive and no added extras

Liked: We liked the view over Cork, the staff and the breakfast was good.
Disliked: The triple room was small in comparison to other hotels and breakfast was pricey at 20euros each when we have had better included in price on this trip.

Superb service and soft luxury

Liked: We liked absolutely everything about this property. I had a strong inkling (from the promotional/marketing materials) that the Woodland Experience was going to be wonderful in terms of the room and service offered, but what we were especially surprised and delighted by was the warm and genuine welcome and care of the people at the Montenotte. The staff are really special - kind and funny people with interesting stories to tell, great recommendations, and a desire to really look after you.

I wouldn't rush back.

Liked: Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Smeg kettle and water available.USB ports
Disliked: Rooms are very small. Had to move a bed to access the wardrobe. Toilet seat was unstable. Hard to control water temp. Toilet roll constantly coming off of the holder. No toilet brushes. Noise of a fan? Door? Outside. Reception wouldn't allow us to pay cash on arrival and then when forced to give a card - was told it had to be a credit card! Rooms too hot and fan in room didn't seem to work. Poor value for money.

Liked: I booked through booking.com but find it cheaper to book direct got the room with breakfast for a lot cheaper when I cancelled booking and checking in I was told I had two rooms had to pay the booking price and lost out on the cheaper price with breakfast in total a loss of 97 euro so I paid the booking price as per their request even showing the cancellation email from booking.com that was my only issue fantastic hotel beautiful views amazing bar with the terrace and their conserige Ken is a gentleman who knows his stuff as a former hotel duty manager I was well impressed with the property and staff but reception let me down
