Liked: Location and charm
Disliked: It's not as friendly as it used to be. We've been coming for years. Barely anyone to welcome us on checkin and didn't even greet us as we left. Very sad. Used to be a fun, lively, friendly place. Welcomed you with champagne. Very charming. Had breakfast too.

Liked: Decorated Christmas trees were lovely- such a festive atmosphere. I appreciated keeping the historic aspect alive while having modern amenities. Quiet room, clean and neat as a pin.Fantastic Christmas Day buffet! Loved talking with Sean and Elizabeth- they were so friendly and helpful!
Disliked: Nothing to complain about.

Exceptional

Overpriced and underwhelmed

Liked: We only had two pillows. The room was cold Room was very bare feeling and not a $200 room.
Disliked: I love the history of the Monte Vista and heard it was getting renovated and wanted to give it a shot. Still a long way to go for the money we spent.

It was okay but not...

Liked: Interesting building. Bedroom was decent size. Bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Not enough outlets in the room. Light bulb in the bathroom was out. No toilet paper roller on the tp holder. Room was cold and couldn’t figure out how to make it warmer.

I wouldn’t recommend to stay...

Liked: Nice location .It was probably very good hotel many years ago, but not now.
Disliked: The current owner doesn’t care of cleaning, not caring about peace and customers. Even you can see that someone smoking in the room and open the window .Personal on my room was: - the tap is broken- very cold floor - a lot of short black hairs;- dust, that had obviously not been removed for several monthsAlso was vey noise up my room, couldn’t fall asleep till midnight and have been awake during night a several times.
