Liked: The staff is amazing! We especially enjoyed Jill at the Front Desk. Our room was so clean! The housekeeping staff does an amazing job. We enjoyed light snacks and delicious beverages in the Lobby each night, and Jazz night was so much fun!

Great location. Incomplete facilities and...

Liked: The recent renovations of the hotel were nice but not always completed or well done. The location of the hotel was excellent. The front desk staff was very helpful when we made them aware of the latest problems. Very cheerful and helpful valet parking staff.
Disliked: Our first room was poorly equipped. We were staying for a week but there was very little space for a week's worth of clothing for my wife and myself. There were very few hangers in the closet and had to call the desk for additional hangers. The room was very, very warm even after turning the cooling on. Sleeping the first night was limited. After complaining at the front desk we were upgraded to a better room. Even with that the room did not have a telephone (we had to use our cell phone to call the front desk), safe or coffee machine. The refrigerator made so much noise we had to unplug it. House keeping was irregular. Twice, in the morning before leaving, we posted the sign on our door requesting our room to be made up, but nothing was done until we complained at the front desk that evening. Last, but not least, the music in the lobby was much too loud (like being in a disco). So not a great place to relax.

Historic building in a good...

Liked: The building is very interesting, being a restored building that was originally constructed to house the regional Stock Exchange. My room was nicely furnished and had a very spacious shower.
Disliked: This was my first stay at this hotel. Given the historic nature of the building, I expected more information on the original use of the building, for example more historic photos or a few books about the Mining Stock Exchange. Some of the meeting rooms are named after famous gold mines in Cripple Creek, but unless you know this before hand, there does not seem to be any description given at the hotel. am very interested in history and so I was hoping for more. Even the website of the hotel doesn't seem to have much on the history of the building.
