Overlooking Melford Hall The Mill offers spacious rooms in the center of Long Melford. Located in an excellent position next to the moat of Melford Hall the high street and the nearest bar and restaurant are less than a minutes' walk away. The Melford Room features a handmade freestanding brass bath in the living area and a small outside patio with views toward Melford Hall. The Garden Room features a log fire in the bedroom and has a large private garden for guest use with an outside table and chairs. Both rooms are on the ground floor and have exposed oak beams and high ceilings. Both rooms have indoor and outdoor seating areas and are fitted with large wall mounted flat-screen televisions. There is a private parking space allocated outside each room for guests. Free WiFi is available in the rooms. Breakfast is served in the conservatory of the main house. A full cooked vegetarian and continental breakfast is available in addition to seasonal favorites such as home made blueberry pancakes porridge and smoked salmon with fresh scrambled eggs from The Mill's chickens. The area is popular for cycling and canoeing. The Mill offers free use of kayaks and bicycles for guests to use so you can explore the river in Sudbury or use the bike routes in and around the village. Very convenient for couples looking...

Liked: Clean and very comfortable with some lovely extras including a well presented breakfast
Disliked: No hand towel holder in bathroom but the most amazing bath

A cosy billet.

Liked: Friendly welcome, comfortable quarters and an interesting neighbourhood to explore. Good advice from our host on local eating (which served us well). The house was formerly the home of Edmund Blunden, which meant something to us.
Disliked: No complaints. The cat was a bit stand-offish; but cats often are and there is nothing to be done about it!

Gorgeous retreat

Liked: Absolute gem of a place. Well thought out and incredibly comfortable, beautiful breakfast selection and lovely host. We only had one night here but returned home feeling like we had been away for a week. We hope to return soon

Nice and close to long...

Liked: Very nice
Disliked: The road could be noisy especially first thing in the morning, even with windows closed and triple glazing.
