Superb

Comfortable enough but over priced

Liked: The room was small but pleasantly decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The sink and shower water pressure was a bit low but fine. There are some lovely views across Sudbury Common.The bar is excellent. Loved the three well kept Nethergate Brewery beers on offer.
Disliked: Service for the evening meal in the restaurant was slow and the food not of particularly good quality. I didn't quibble, but I did resent having the voluntary service charge added to the bill. Breakfast was disappointing - the hot food (it's a buffet breakfast) was barely warm. Eggs were only served scrambled (at least I think it was scrambled egg - I cut myself off a piece and it tasted like egg). There was no vegetarian option (other than vegetable croquettes available on request) and the baked beans looked like they'd been reheated. On the whole, the hotel is comfortable enough but over priced.

Very nice location and hotel

Liked: The location was picturesque the meadow and the river stour is just a perfect place to walk and relax.The food was very good value for money.The bar and restaurant was very cosy and you can sense the history.
Disliked: The rooms are badly described and not what you see in the pictures but are very comfortable.
