The Midland Hotel would be...

Liked: Amazingly beautiful and interesting hotel building in an ideal central location. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable.
Disliked: There was nothing I didn't like.However, seeing as you ask... I do think table-service for breakfast would be an improvement. Self-service involves a lot of to-ing and fro-ing and there were several members of staff as well as other hotel guests going backwards and forwards at the same time, which is not ideal when you are carrying drinks and plates, etc.

Liked: The reception staff were most attentive & thoughtful in kindly arranging taxi transport.
Disliked: I was rather disappointed with the presentation of two evening meals which I ordered in the bar for a friend and myself. The quality of the food items was fine and I assumed that the dishes had been assembled by an inexperienced member of the kitchen staff.

Liked: Great location, great staff, comfortable, usually try and stay here when in Bradford
Disliked: Some rooms/bathrooms are a little tired and in need of an upgrade

Superb

Liked: Location right by Forster Square station, ambiance, well looked after artefacts from its day as a railway hotel, in the days of steam, sitting in the bar by the fire on a cold snowy night with a glass of wine or a bowl of soup.Really convenient for the whole city centre.Great value for money.
Disliked: Veg sausages were icy in centre on the day we breakfasted there. That's about it.

Really decent hotel, good overall...

Liked: Comfortable bed, powerful shower, central location for town, nice old building, good breakfast, hairdryer, robes, decent telly, clean room.
Disliked: Only few small niggles. Water pipes when other rooms using bathroom a bit noisy at night for me , but didn't bother my partner. Curtain didn't close properly in our room for some reason, coffee bought from the reception bar wasn't very good, dining room staff polite but not very attentive. Plug socket next to bed would have been useful for my phone ( there were sockets elsewhere in the room)
