We really enjoyed our stay...

Liked: The location was perfect, in the centre of the town so we didn’t use our cars at all while we were there. There was a comfortable lounge for guests on the first floor. The staff were polite & friendly. The bar area and dining room have been refurbished to create a pleasant light & airy space for breakfast, lunch & dinner if wanted. The breakfast menu provided good options for everyone.
Disliked: We had a superking room, by default, so we expected extras like a couple of armchairs but there was no space for this. The bathroom had been refurbished with modern fixtures and fittings to look good but the shower over the bath was difficult to operate because there was only one tap to operate high shower, low shower & bath. It was difficult to work out how to find the desired option so instructions on how to use this would have been helpful. The seat on the toilet was loose and appeared to be too small for the base. The distance from the public car park to the property was further than we’d been led to believe so some of our group found the walk difficult to manage with their luggage. The stairs were also difficult to manage for some. We knew, from the information provided when booking, that there were 2 flights of stairs up to the bedrooms but hadn’t realised that there would be one room available on the first floor. The impression given was that all bedrooms were on the second floor. I’d booked 4 rooms for our group so, had I known in advance that one of these was on the first floor, I’d have asked for that room to be given to the couple who needed it the most.I phoned the hotel 4 days before we were due to arrive to give them the 4 car registration numbers for our group to enable us to go straight to the designated car park on arrival. I was assured by the person on Reception that it would be fine to park on our arrival as all registration numbers would be registered with the car park on the day. In reality, the numbers weren’t recorded so we all had to phone the hotel separately on the day to arrange this again.

Rather disappointing but convenient location....

Liked: No continental buffet, only a few boring cereals on the menu, no muesli or granola. Eventually produced some yoghurt and fruit. No croissants, toast etc. given one cup of coffee. Not asked if we wanted more. No fruit juice
Disliked: Reception did not give clear directions to the room or explain how to get to the car park. Rather dark at top of stairs. Only one chair in bedroom, plug in basin was broken so could not keep water in the basin for shaving etc. Cold water ran warm. nice that Nespresso machine but no guide to what the pods were. No biscuits.

Louth night out

Liked: Beautiful bathroom. Breakfast was lovely. Nespresso machine in the bedroom was a nice touch. View over the market square was unexpected. Will probably be quite festive at Xmas.
Disliked: Room was small but that was reflected in the price. Coffee offering at breakfast was not the best.

Enjoyed our stay

Liked: Location & comfortable. Breakfast very good
Disliked: It would be useful to have a table/dressing table with mirror above & socket. So many hotels don’t have facilities for ladies doing their hair & makeup
