Exceptional

Liked: The Malone is in a beautiful location within walking distance to so many things, pubs, restaurants, shops, all kinds of wonderful places! The hotel is simply beautiful and the staff are so nice! The car park in the back is very large and very convenient! If you don't have a car you can walk to the town center or an Uber is only around $8. The beds are comfy, the pillows are comfy, and it has a restaurant, and a pub and Breakfast! You can't go wrong! I highly recommend this hotel! They even upgraded us for our 20 year anniversary! Just a great place!

Pretty awful experience

Liked: Location is good. Hotel as disaster.
Disliked: On arrival we were told that there was no water but it would be fixed by 6pm. There was also an event running which meant that the experience was noisy and chaotic. As it transpired they were without water until the early hours of Sunday and then had no electricity! A proper breakfast was not served. We are very disappointed with the whole experience. I appreciate there were water problems in parts of BT9 on Saturday but surely as a hotel you have contingency plans for such situations, such as a generator? I also think if you have a big event on which impinges upon the enjoyment of other guests that really isn’t acceptable and needs to be managed on the day - or indeed don’t take the bookings. I raised the issue with the hotel on Monday and still haven’t heard from anyone…..

I would stay there again!

Liked: The staff at the Malone were so friendly and welcoming and truly made our stay. The staff at reception were exceptional and a special mention to Becky whose pleasant, cheerful and helpful manner are such an asset to the hotel. And Tony who served us our breakfast and looked after us so well in such a kind and friendly manner, the Malone are lucky to have you on staff. And the food was great!!
Disliked: My only complaint is there was too few electrical sockets in the bedroom and it was difficult to keep all our devices charged up. But I understand the rooms we were in are being upgraded soon so I'd recommend a few extra wall sockets be put in.

Passable

Liked: Room facilities good
Disliked: The room was very noisy and we could not turn air conditioning down. The enight porter had to do it centrally. When we were leaving and told the lady on reception she treated us like we were fools. We have stayed in hotels before so we do know how to work air con!
