All in all, The Maisonette...

Liked: The location was great and the room served our purpose for a two-night stay.
Disliked: The room was very 'bare-bones' (which was mostly expected)—no lamps (only a rather bright, overhead light) and basic offerings of the usual things like tea/coffee/milk/soap/shampoo. The main thing we thought was a problem was the slightly raised floor of the bathroom (compared with the rest of the room) which had a hard, sharp edge. Perfect for stubbing toes on whenever entering! We had to place something over it to avoid hurting ourselves.

Liked: Nice budget hotel in the very hipster area of Sydney Potts Point. Good public transport to the city (bus just around the corner and metro station 10 min walk away), grocery stores, cafes near by.
Disliked: Super small rooms, especially solo room, wc and shower shared. Unfortunatelly there is no lift and the stairs are super narrow, was a challenge to go up to the 4th floor with a large and heavy luggage.

Disliked: Wifi was terrible (there was no phone reception in room so wifi is important) and there were too many rules (more than the usual hotel). Staff could have been more friendlier and attentive to guest rather than being very transactional. Kept me waiting for sometime while they were on the phone.
