Excellent, relaxing hotel in great...

Liked: It’s in an excellent position near the Tate Modern but only 25 minutes walk to Trafalgar Square. Southwark tube is close by. Rooms are easily accessible and being above the pub is a bonus. Relatively quiet too despite its proximity to a busy junction. Very comfortable room. Shops and cafes close by but the Mad Hatter has a great menu itself…..particularly at breakfast. Lovely friendly staff.
Disliked: It probably needs a bit of a face lift…..toilet flush needed attention as water just kept running sometimes…simple plumbing job needed, as did the leaking shower! Decor a little faded now. Try and get a proper water heater at breakfast instead of vacuum flasks…..I like HOT tea!I’ve stayed here three times now and will come back.

Lovely hotel!

Liked: We enjoyed our stay! The decoration of the hotel is amazing! We love the Alice in Wonderland theme and also the pictures that are hanging on the walls. The room is clean and is a good size, and the bed is comfortable. We especially loved the breakfast, the pub is such a lovely place!! The staff are helpful and friendly as well. We hope we can stay here again next time!

Convenient location when you don’t...

Liked: Location was perfect for my stay, The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly.The 10% discount on food from the bar was nice. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice.
Disliked: Nothing, all excellent

Liked: Very comfortable room with extra large bed. Convenient location. Good breakfast with plenty of choice and helpful and friendly staff
Disliked: On a rather busy junction but luckily good sound proofing

Exceptional

will go back especially if...

Liked: the pie and mash with cabbage was better than expected. Bedroom was fine, a good nights sleep. maybe an old boozer but was quite comfortable.
Disliked: No complaints other the price was far too high. Last October was under £150, this stay was £230.

Nice place to stay.

Liked: The hotel is very clean, fresh and comfortable.The staff are attentive, helpful and very friendly.There are excellent choices for breakfast.The bar has a good atmosphere in the evening with great selection of drinks.
Disliked: We had one evening meal here. It was OK, could have been better. Fish batter overcooked and pie pastry a bit hard.
