The Lodge At Santa Fe, Santa Fe

I thought the hotel was very nice and comfortable. Cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful.

Liked: The Lodge is now privately owned, rather than operated by Big Corporate Interests. The vibe feels less upscale, but the owners are still delivering on one of Santa Fe's most gorgeous and significant hotel properties. Let's give them some love.
Disliked: It is a shame that the celebrated flamenco theater at The Lodge is closed, due to the fact that even performances are owned and controlled behind the scenes by corporate interests to an extent most of us can't even imagine. Now independently owned, The Lodge is now going to have to get into the game in its own way.

Disliked: No exterior lighting. Dangerous after dark.The snack choices in the bar were very limited. The facility seems to be quite run down.

Liked: Nice room, great hot tub. Nice that check out is at noon.
Disliked: Our car got broken into during our stay. We were parked right outside our room. We let the hotel staff up front know because we thought they should know to maybe take precautions to prevent this from happening to other guests. We asked whether there were security cameras. They said they had security patrol the area occasionally, but no security cameras. This is fine and we understand there is always a risk with theft when leaving a car somewhere over night. However, it would have been nice if the staff showed a modicum of empathy; instead they were very indifferent and basically just brushed us off. We thought the hotel should know since clearly there is a risk for other guests to have their car broken into. If I were on the other side of this, I would’ve at least pretended to care and said we would look into increasing security measures so that this wouldn’t happen to other guests.
