Nice hotel but the location...

Liked: Clean and new. Very nice skyline view. Loved the Free coffee. We also were very happy to see hotel security guarding the hotel entrance.
Disliked: Location. This hotel is directly in front of the Tenderloin weekly hotel and local liquor store. It is not the hotel's fault, but due to the out-of-control homeless encampments, the sidewalk smelling like urine, and continuous drug dealing and prostitution we witnessed from our hotel room window, we will not be returning to SOMA and the Tenderloin area unless San Francisco gets its act together. I am a Bay Area native and lived in SF in the 90s so I'm so sad to see this city become such a trash town. We were afraid of leaving the hotel and would not walk anywhere. We had to Lyft around town. So sad.One last thing, on Sundays and Mondays the restaurant and bar might not be open. We arrived Sunday at 4 pm and all bars and restaurants were closed until Tuesday morning.

Don’t go there

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Terrible location, in a very dangerous place. The property keeps 2 security guards with bullet proof vests by their door. There is a drug dealing basis in front of it.I was misled by book review and thought I was going to a decent location with my 3 teenagers. We felt so unsafe that we stayed inside the car, locked up, for over 20 minutes trying to get the hotel staff to help with parking and checking in.The room is small, curtains were damaged and I couldn’t wait for the stay to finish.

Didn't live up to the...

Liked: The staff were friendly. The food at the rooftop bar was good.
Disliked: The food in the coffee shop did not look appetizing. The beds were not that comfortable. Too expensive for what you get. Next time I come to SF, I will stay at a fancier hotel that has the same rates.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Nice hotel but terrible location.

Liked: Nice hotel, cool rooftop.
Disliked: The hotel is located in the worst area of San Francisco - Tenderloin. It says Union square but it’s really at the border of this terrible area where it is obvious that drugs have been destructing the city. Travelling as 3 women, we didn’t feel safe at all. The security guy at night was even wearing a bulletproof vest… wouldn’t recommend to stay here.
