Liked: Location suited me but that was no accident, I know Ulverstone quite well. Price was cheap enough but definitely choose the cheapest rate you can find, as had I paid what their website was charging (which they promoted as being cheapest with the most perks but was actually approximately twice what I paid) I'd have been hell disappointed. Even so, it didn't live up to my modest cheapskate expectations, and they were pretty low lol. Check in was terrible, first girl took far too long to answer my bell, so long that another lady was waiting as well and getting annoyed (she stays there often but was rapidly reconsidering lol). When I finally got served the second lady wasn't even acknowledged. If you could say I got served. Make sure you have ID, I booked on Booking.Com partly because I've never needed it and didn't have it on me. Got told I couldn't check in. And that the reason for the policy is that the cops often need it.Say WHAT? It's such a dodgy hotel that the cops get called to rooms so often they need ID of people staying? It's not like Ulverstone is an unsafe town (I go there often). Wowsers. Makes me not want to stay. First rude girl went to get the manager while I tried to find ID in my phone... second lady was still waiting despite me moving to the side. Manager was skilled at dealing with complaints (obviously they get them often) but as someone who works in hospitality it didn't fool me. I was polite, made the excuse I'd already eaten when she tried to push counter meals on me (hell no you got enough of my money) then went to my room... which was far too dirty even for the reasonable price I paid. See photos. Probably most people wouldn't notice as it was a nice, modern, newish room... but the hair on the bed was the first thing I noticed.
