Really good, would definitely return

Liked: excellent food, everything spotless, friendly & accommodating welcome
Disliked: Booking.com was not great for bookingon Booking.com the choice was for mountain view but this doesn't seem to have been transmitted to the hotel, we had a road facing view, which was ok. Double glazing kept out the noise but it would not be possible to leave window open

Pub closure due to staff...

Liked: We didn't stay
Disliked: We set off from home to stay here on the 28th December. We received a message at approx 11:45 am from the landlord( I still have this message) to say that due to staff exhaustion, the pub wouldn't be open that day but our room was ready for us to stay and to ring the bell or the landlord on arrival. We arrived at approx 2.10pm(dash cam footage to prove this) and saw a note stating it was shut until 12.30pm the following day due to staff exhaustion. We rang the bell and there was no answer so we rang the pub at 2.11pm and I also tried to respond to the message he had sent to us via booking.com and we had no response so we had to drive back home. Once home, I contacted booking com to say I needed to cancel due to us being unable to check in. I had no response until the following morning when they informed me that we had been marked down as a no show and we would be charged £105. I have since tried to contact booking.com to contest this and still haven't received a response. Just a warning to anyone wanting to book here to be prepared for this to happen again and to certainly not use booking.com to book this
