OK but not fantastic

Liked: The locations fairly good. Close to the tram and an east 30 minute walk to surfers taking your time. The bathroom in the superior king room is large and very luxurious. The hotel bar was nice, service there was good. Indoor pool amazing, quiet and relaxing. Overall this hotel feels like it’s firmly aiming at families and inter generational groups of travellers. I’d stay clear if you’re a mature couple looking for a luxury break, this hotel falls short. Parking is easy and free, don’t be tempted to use Valet, no advantage and it’s $60.00 a day!
Disliked: I am surprised this hotel is rated so highly. It doesn’t live up to the Langham name and certainly doesn’t reflect what I expect of a hotel in this price bracket. Accepting we only stayed in a Superior King on this occasion. The bed, very uncomfortable. Wardrobe? Who thought the ideal place would be within the bathroom? No one wants their clothing in a damp room unless you’re steaming them after travel. The outdoor pool, too small for the capacity of the hotel, no shades, sand everywhere, but it is a beach front property. Loads of families with small children overrunning the area and impossible to swim, poor design. Difficult to get pool side service. We only ate at 26n Sunny Cafe, both times our meals were missing ingredients mentioned on the menu and we had to ask for them and the staff appeared totally fed up, we even had to ask for cutlery. Our shower door had dropped and it wouldn’t fully open or close. We let reception know and quickly someone came to fix it. However by the following morning it was dropped again! Very poor.
