Loved it!

Liked: Beautiful family-run boutique hotel above The Canny Man Pub. Very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Super friendly staff. Breakfast at the pub was amazing, loved the selection of hot breakfast choices and continental buffet breakfast. The baguette and croissants were the best I ever had! Quiet location in Morningside with easy access by bus to Edinburgh city centre and beyond. The immediate neighbourhood offers a lot of little shops and restaurants. Highly recommend a stay at The Lane Hotel!
Disliked: Nothing major at all, just my personal opinion: I didn’t like the green-white duvet covers, they ruined the colour scheme of the room. And the mesh basket with the succulents in the bathroom didn’t match the decor.

Disliked: The Lane Hotel is not only not a boutique hotel (which the owners claim it is), it is also not a hotel. It is also not a bed&breakfast. The Lane Hotel is a room, and that is is. If it is promoted that way: very fine. But it is not. Booking.com should address this with the owners. Claiming the rooms are a hotel, let alone "Boutique Hotel) is a misrepresentation,No breakfast in the resto next door on Xmas day and on Boxing day only from 10.0o am onwards. No reception. The waiters of the resto next door, are the people to speak to about the rooms.
