Liked: What a gem.… superb hotelIn a prime location.

The staff must realize that...

Liked: Room too small for the price. I was placed in the basement floor when I was the one who booked and paid for all the 5 rooms I got. Staff not friendly and not accommodating.

Excellent stay.

Liked: I always love staying at the Lancaster. Easy access to the Trams; breakfast is excellent; rooms are comfortable; staff is friendly.
Disliked: A bit pricey, but everything is pricey in Amsterdam these days.

Liked: Amazing location in a leafy district with a zoo located opposite the hotel (the sound of a flamingo flock along with the usual morning birdsong was lovely). The mattresses were comfortable and the linen good quality. There was a coffee machine and a kettle with supplies topped up. Easy to use shower and the handsoap/shampoo/body wash dispensers were full. Good choice for breakfast (choices of milks inc. oat, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses, salads, scrambled/boiled eggs, excellent loaves daily, Dutch Apple pie, pastries). Lovely, welcoming reception staff. Space to store luggage.
Disliked: The en-suite was tiny with a gap of about 3” between the door and the step. Not a huge problem if you’re good friends or with a partner, you just have to be careful not to knock the door flying open when drying yourself if not! There are a three toilets available on the lower ground level if needed.

Disappointing

Disliked: I stayed in room 215 and the extra single bed smelled of pee , sickening smell that mattress has to change!

Liked: Location was nice and quiet but only 15min by tram from the city centre. Staff were really helpful. Room was lovely
