Liked: It was a good location for going to the theater and dinner. Not too far from Penn Station. The room and bathroom were spacious. Good breakfast.
Disliked: The room was not well lit. Hallways monochromatic and dark. Not a fan of the "modern" look hotels have been adopting.

Location! Location! Location! And not...
Liked: Location! Location! Location!Lucy at the Front Desk was especially helpful. Housekeeping was excellent.
Disliked: First night (of four nights), we had no heat. Second day, Knickerbocker moved our room because the heating unit was broken in the original room, and we were up-graded to a suite. (Of course, all of this took time away from our trip to NYC.) The room was large, especially by NYC standards. But it was also bare. A 20 x 20 living/sitting room had one small, cheap, low-slung, foam sofa and an equally small coffee table. That was the only furniture in the room. The walls of the suite were flat gray and totally devoid of any decoration: good or bad--totally blank. The room felt like a governmental institution. All the furniture (in both rooms that we used) was of particle board, including the siding and the doors. We booked late (third week in November), and it was the second week in December; we paid over $1,000 a night.

Low key luxury in the...
Liked: The room was huge for this part of manhattan and the service was extremely attentive and helpful.
Disliked: Nothing! It was a little pricey but compared to similarly priced properties, I feel like it was a good value!
