Lovely rooms, bar and beer...

Liked: Rooms were warm and comfortable. Instant hot water available all day. Bar downstairs is very nice. I had the Hunters Breakfast, it was delicious.
Disliked: Due to the age and character of the building, the stairs is very steep and might not be suitable for older guests with limited mobility.

Good place to stay but...

Liked: Welcomed by a very friendly and efficient staff, all of whom were excellent. The pub side of things was buzzing and served a decent pint.A very wide choice for selection on both the breakfast and dinner menus. Our various dishes were all excellent in terms of both presentation and taste.Once again, excellent staff. The rooms could best be described as individual and quirky. The beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms could do with upgrading alongside attention to the plumbing.Showers were fine but sink and lavatories and general bathroom decor needs attention. Finally, although understandably difficult in a listed building, thought could be given to providing some form of storage for clothes.
Disliked: All as above

Useful stopping point with good...

Liked: Convenient and the food was good
Disliked: As an old property the rooms were sparsely decorated and furnished. Next to the London railway line and rooms above the bar. So relatively noisy from Friday night revellers until closing time.

Wonderful

Liked: We received a warm welcome upon our arrival. And all the staff were lovely The hotel is pleasant, though my sole suggestion would be for larger cups for my morning and late-night cuppa .
