This place is in a...

Liked: Dinner was very nice and good value (best value fillet steak I have had in years). Staff very friendly. Room was basic and small but as described and met our needs for one night.
Disliked: Nothing to complain about for the price.

Comfortable bed and nicely cleaned...

Disliked: Creaky floorboards even though trying to be quiet

we can't wait to get...

Liked: Very beautifull hotel, near to Harry Potter studios. Personal is fantastic and in the hotel is a lovely restaurant and bar. In night is silente, so you can sleep well. The rooms are beautifully warm even when it's cold outside.
Disliked: The rug on the starcase can be in better condition, but its just little detail.

Lovely Olde English style pub...

Liked: Great pub, good food and friendly staff. The amenities are basic, but clean. The pub is very old, with the building dating back to the mid 1600’s, so is appropriately creaky and low-ceilinged.The location is ideal for a visit to the nearby HP Studios.
Disliked: Nothing really not to like. The stair case is a bit steep, but again, nothing out of the ordinary for a building this old.

Would happily stay here again....

Liked: Friendly and welcoming staff. Clean and comfy room. Good food. Really close to where we were going. Good value for money. Plenty of parking. Family friendly.
Disliked: The only thing I can think of is that the room could have been lit a bit better, it was a bit dark even with the main light on, and the bathroom mirror was too high for me!

Cheap enough but you get...

Liked: The location was great for us, in a beautiful little village. The staff were friendly on arrival and check out.
Disliked: The radiator and shower were broken. Luckily we were only there for 1 night and could without these. Set up was very basic.

Comfortable, friendly and quirky

Liked: Gorgeous little hotel over a pub / restaurant. Quite a quirky building with lots of old beams and features, lovely sized room and bathroom. Comfortable beds and not too loud given that you are right over a pub. All the staff were lovely and really approachable and the food was amazing if a little on the large portioned side. Only a £7-8 journey to the Harry Potter Studio if you don't drive and around £10 to / from Watford Junction Station (do not use one of the station taxis, they overcharge - google a local firm).
Disliked: I personally didn't have issues with anything but something to note - it is an old building and if you are tall you will need to duck through doorways.
