Located in the most picturesque street in the market town of Ross-on-Wye this 14th century hotel maintains many of its original features including oak beams and a large stone fireplace. Located on either the first or second floor all rooms feature an private bathroom and tea and coffee facilities. Free filtered water is also provided and rooms have free Wi-Fi. There is free parking available on site. The restaurant is also open to non residents and is extremely popular in the local area. It features a 62 foot well as its centerpiece and uses fresh market produce. The Kings Bar has a good range of single malts wines and 2 local real ales. A great location for exploring The Wye Valley Black Mountains Tintern Abbey and Symonds Yat the hotel is within a 40 minute drive of Cardiff and Cheltenham. Goodrich Castle The Forest of Dean and The Welsh Marches are also easily accessible for day trips.

Great atmosphere, good beer, fantastic...

Liked: Food was excellent, the staff couldn't be nicer or more attentive, bar was buzzing and the room was great.
Disliked: The power shower leaked out of the end of the hose, but the shower on the whole was really good

Very enjoyable stay.

Liked: It had lots of character and a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly. The bed was very comfortable.

Very good

Liked: Very friendly helpful staff. Good food, both breakfast and dinner
Disliked: The stairs are very steep and twisty so you have to be a little careful when carrying cases although staff will offer to help

Would recommend staying at this...

Liked: Had a quick checkin at reception with with welcoming staff. Hotel location was easy to find & bonus had the last carpark space at the hotel so saved driving around looking for a carpark & paying. Didn't have evening meal but Breakfast was great lovely which was served in the restaurant with lovely decor & atmosphere.
Disliked: Would of been good to have mini fridge in the room.
