Great staff, comfortable and clean...
Liked: Absolutely charming historic inn right on the main street in Godalming. When we arrived it was quiet and no one was at the front desk, but going into the bar/restaurant area we were greeted with a cozy scene with a bartender and a few patrons at tables. The bartender ended up being the manager who we checked in with and he helped us get situated in the room.We stayed in the Henry the VIII suite, which was spacious and had a lot of history around it with oil paintings and a nice sitting area separate from the beds. The bathroom as also recently re-done, and much nicer than the one we had in our hotel in London. Since we were traveling with younger children, they setup two cots before we arrived which included cookies on the pillows. The manager also helped me park the car, since all spaces in the lot behind the hotel were full but he pointed out two very faint spots in the middle.Since it was Sunday we ate the at inns restaurant, having Sunday Roast which was fantastic. We had a full English breakfast at the inn the next morning, which also included a cereal, juice and fruit bar. We were planning to walk around Godalming that day and the staff also recommended driving to the village of Shere nearby since we had a car.We only stayed one night, but our experience was one that we'll remember from our trip to England. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations and would book again next time we find ourselves in Surrey.

Highly recommended and will stay...
Liked: Great location in the centre of Godalming. Room was really well decorated and roomy. Bathroom was large and stocked with lovely toiletries. We stayed in a twin bedded room. Plenty of space. Bathrobes and slippers provided. Staff very helpful and welcoming. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choices. Nice bar area. Afternoon tea, although not sampled, looked delicious. Children’s version available which looked lovely. All in all, very good.
Disliked: Parking is tight and difficult to secure a spot, as very few spaces available for hotel guests. Could be a challenge if mobility is an issue. Same goes for accessing the bedrooms as there is no lift, so again, if you have mobility issues, the stairs may be a challenge for some.

Beautiful hotel, warm and cosy,...
Liked: The staff were the stand out for me! They treated us like friends and went above and beyond to be helpful and make our stay lovely! The food was excellent, the decor very classic and cool and the village is gorgeous, with the hotel in prime location, with the train station 5 minutes walk away. We had a fantastic stay. Highly recommended. The Italian restaurant because door was a bonus!
Disliked: The bed was a little uncomfortable but that might just be me because I have a load of mattress toppers at home! We had the double room and I'd say the bed would have been too small for anyone other than 2 small humans! My daughter and I are 5ft 2 and about 10 stone and it was a squish so I'd recommend an upgrade for anyone bigger, but still worth a stay, don't miss out!
