An absolute gem

Liked: Lovely pub and beautiful room. Varied menus for lunch and breakfast, so enjoyable. Staff were very welcoming.
Disliked: Absolutely nothing, couldn't fault anything

Ideal location when visiting family...

Liked: Property had undergone a renovation/refurbishment since our previous visit earlier in 2024. The work was excellent. Locals and staff were very friendly

Disliked: Check in could have been quicker as the staff weren’t familiar with the system but they did sort it

We have mixed feelings because...

Liked: The room was clean,comfortable and spacious, staff were friendly.The Full English breakfast was nice and a good variety of fruits, juices, cereals and a toaster was available with a variety of preserves.
Disliked: The service for our evening meal was poor, our finished starter plates were still on the table when the main course was brought out, the staff didn’t offer us a dessert or after meal coffee, we ordered a New Zealand white wine but we’re given an Italian Wine instead, we were initially charged for the slightly more expensive New Zealand wine but the bill was ultimately amended. Breakfast was disappointing as the Eggs Royal were overcooked and the smoked salmon was very salty and inedible.

Disliked: Unfortunately not as good as last time I stayed here .. staff shortage and one poor girl left to do everything .

Absolutely outstanding

Liked: Luxury room and luxury food, fine dining in a warm and comfortable environment. Not rushed at all and very friendly staff. Room was amazing, dinner was amazing as was the breakfast.
Disliked: There's nothing not to like about this place. Everything was outstanding.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Liked: When we walked into the King William it was a lovely surprise as the bar area was not like walking into a public house.The room was clean, tidy and dressed beautifully with a couple of nice touches - the radio was playing very quietly and housekeeping had left a little note to say enjoy your stay. There was a good choice on the breakfast menu and although we didn’t have dinner there the dining area was very impressive. We would definitely stay there again.
Disliked: Bathroom radiator didn’t seem to get hot but we were only there one night so not a big problem.
