Disappointing

Liked: Unfortunately we were disappointed with the hotel, the only good things about it were the location to the stepping stones & the food.We had to move rooms due to not having hot water & the TV not working, the room we moved too wasn't great there was peeling wallpaper and the shower didn't work properly. When we went down for dinner you could tell straight away that there was tension between the manager & the other man working in the restaurant, there were a lot of eye rolling & comments made to the customers!!! The menu was very simple & a lot of it wasn't available but we had Fish & Chips which was delicious.Unfortunately there was absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant or bar area, so we ended up going to our room pretty early!! On our way to breakfast in the morning, the lady behind the reception desk was vaping, it wasn't until we said good morning that we were actually spoken too!!! The breakfast was very disappointing we got down around 9:15 am to nothing left, they were very slow in getting food out!!! The hotel is very outdated, and not worth the money I paid. Very disappointed ☹️

Disappointed but would consider going...

Liked: Initially placed in small room with carpark view ( when according to my booking I booked a king size room with mountain view.). We then discovered the hot water in the room was not running properly so they moved us. This was an upgrade on the initial room🙂 but still car park view.. This room was spacious , clean and comfortable. Unfortunately during the night we had a leak from upstairs into our bathroom.and so we woke up to a wet floor. Staff were helpful and pleasant. We were happy with the breakfast eaten in a spacious dining area with lovely views 🙂 ( my husband said it reminded him of faulty towers 😂). Despite all this we would consider going back.

Country experience and a great...

Liked: Charming, comfortable stay in a fantastic location. Friendly staff and good sized room with views and great bed. We had dinner of fish and chips which I couldn’t fault and a great night sleep. Breakfast could be improved as it was self service and we had to wait. But overall lovely stay.

Liked: We love the location and have stayed at this hotel many times. And we like the fact that it's not too trendy .
Disliked: The pub food was really poor. The breakfast arrangement had changed so much from having a white tablecloth and menu to choose from in our previous visits, to having bare tables and self serve not very nice options. Diluted cordial as orange juice as one example was a big surprise. The whole place needs a big overhaul. It's one of the most beautiful hotel locations in the UK and has so much potential.
