We fell for the fallacy...
Liked: •The room was spacious.•There were a few complimentary sodas/water bottles in the mini fridge.•The HVAC was responsive.
Disliked: *The visit started with hearing the front desk staff talk about how incompetent the cleaning crew is in front of us while we waited for our room to be ready, which felt very unprofessional.*We paid for a Queen bed, and were given an XL twin, so my feet hung over the end.*The mattress was very, very uncomfortable and it was hard to get any sleep.*The water in the taps/shower was terrifyingly hot and my wife was scalded badly within seconds when she tried to wash her hands.*The television was tiny, had terrible reception and picture, and was awkwardly placed across the large, empty room with an ancient cable box delicately balanced on top. (The wide, unused space of the room makes the tiny bed all the more confusing and disappointing.)*There were no modern amenities beyond the WiFi, like places to charge your phones or streaming access on the TV.*It’s a small thing, but taken with the general air of indifference it speaks to the experience - the advertised daily newspapers “outside your door” were never delivered.*We were given a room on the third floor in a building on the other side of the street from the parking lot, which was an obvious inconvenience for my visibly pregnant wife. (No warning or accommodations were discussed when we checked in and she was on display.)*In general, the whole vibe of this property feels hokey and cheap. For example, the walkways are littered with placards sporting cliche “jokes” that you would find on a tee shirt at a truck stop, like: “Bills come through the mail three times faster than paychecks”. The “upscale” restaurant is called “Krazy Kats”, and has leopard print chairs. It feels like the target clientele is 70 years old, but seniors wouldn’t be able to handle all the steps or rock hard beds. I’m honestly confused how they stay in business.

Needs an interior overhaul.
Liked: Amenities in fridge. Quaint atmosphere.
Disliked: Furniture is beat up, stained, and blankets were not fluffy. Cracked porcelain sink and pretty much everything needs updated. The grounds are not well cared for by the rooms furthest away from the main entrance .... weeds were so overgrown that you couldn't enjoy the landscaping. I know that it was October but it was unsightly. Room smelled of bleach, which is good in a way but it deteacted from the ambiance. Bed was wobbly. The room was poorly lit as well.

Our stay was perfect!
Liked: The rooms were beautiful and so comfortable. All amenities, even to the heated towel rack were perfect for our stay. It was close to everything, shops, restaurants, and attractions. The desk attendant was of great help with everything requested.
Disliked: The only way this stay could have been better was if it was free. Everything was better than expected.
