Disliked: I was basically "screwed over" at this place financially. . I originally booked a room for the night of December 31st, 2024, to the 1st day of January 2025. I ended up leaving my home in West Texas a day earlier, so I emailed staff explaining that I needed to cancel the reservation for the 31st and rebook a reservation for December 30th, 2024, to December 31st, 2024. I received a response that the original reservation had been canceled. A new reservation was made for December 30th, 2024, and it was a different room than what was originally booked. The new room was also about 60 dollars cheaper than the original room that was booked. I was fine with the new room and thought that all was well. I also made another reservation for January 4th, 2025, to January 5th, 2025, since my granddaughter and I would be returning from a trip to Florida. I thought that everything was OK, that is until we got to the Inn. When I got there on December 30th, 2024, I was told that 2 rooms were reserved. I told them that no, I only had one room booked, and it was only for my granddaughter and myself. They then placed us in the original room that had been canceled instead of the room I rebooked for. I was also charged the $218 and some change for the original room that was supposed to be canceled. I attempted to get everything straightened out with no success. I advised staff that the revised booking was for a different room and not the room with the original booking. I was told that I was probably put in that room because the other room had a leak in the ceiling that had to be repaired.Forward to January 4th to January 5th, 2025. I arrived late, around 10 p.m., and I was told that my reservation for that night had been canceled.( I did not cancel it) I told the owner who was there that I would just go to another hotel rather than stay there. I also explained that I was already having issues with the first time I stayed at the inn, and I felt that I did get ripped off.

Liked: This was a delightful and beautiful place. Comfortable bed. Beautiful breakfast. If you like historical stays, this one is great.
Disliked: You must be able to do stairs.

I loved the Inn at...

Liked: The facility is beautiful and still retains the feeling of a private home. Our room was perfect: close to my car, close to the main house. The room was comfortable in the way visiting a friend's room would be. The staff from receptionist to barkeep, to cook simply do excellent work.
Disliked: Wish it were closer to home so I could treat myself for their special dinners.....
