Central location and surprisingly quiet
Liked: We had an apartment and despite being on the street it was quiet. The rooms were a good size. The staff were extremely helpful and Joey looked after us on checking explaining the town, where to eat etc. Breakfast was great with their grab and go concept. They catered gluten free too which was a bonus.

Exceptional
Liked: Lovely new room, very comfy beds, great bathroom.
Disliked: Just one thing, the room wasn't huge and it was lovely to have a chair to sit in but wow, what a whopper! Way too big for the space and a bit in the way. A smaller one would work better.

Definitely less than I expected...
Liked: Check in was easy, breakfast was adequate for a serve-yourself situation – not elegant but OK. For a room that was directly on a high-traffic street, I was surprised at how quiet the room was...but at the same time it was lucky that the weather was cold on the nights I was there because it would not have been possible to cool the room down without opening the windows and letting all of the noise in.
Disliked: The House Hotel had a reputation for being quirky and unique, and presented itself online as a fairly upscale and trendy hotel. The reality, on arrival, was a hotel that felt corporate-generic mixed with IKEA cheap. The front lobby, once apparently a very cool bar had no amenities, just two burly middle-aged Russian or Polish men sprawled on two chairs with cups of coffee staring at, and following the movements of, every person who arrived or moved through the space. The room was furnished by IKEA, or someplace cheaper, with flimsy, characterless corporate furniture and a mattress that was as comfortable as a brick with a blanket laid over it.
