Hotel Description
This mid-18th century former inn offers unique rooms free Wi-Fi and excellent views of Rye. Built around 1750 for local sailors and ship builders The Hope Anchor is thought to have once sheltered the Tenterden Gang who used its old secret passages for smuggling. Relax beside the log fire in traditional cozy bar and enjoy the individually styled bedrooms some of which have a four poster bed. In the morning enjoy a delicious traditional full English breakfast or if you prefer a lighter continental breakfast of cold meats and cheeses yogurt and fresh fruit salad or maybe even have both!! all served in our breakfast room. (Please note we do not serve lunches or evening meals) Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.4 for a two-person trip. We speak your language! Excellent hotel in a lovely...

Liked: This charming hotel is in a fabulous location with lovely views and it has a sense of history as soon as you step inside. Very quick check in by friendly staff and we liked the fact that we were asked to choose our cooked breakfast items and time in advance so that it meant breakfast service was efficient and no waiting around. The quality of ingredients was excellent and the staff at breakfast were also great. There are some cosy areas to sit and chat and a nice bar to relax with a beer. We were also given happy hour ticket which was a nice touch. Lovely room with great views, nice bed linen and very comfortable bed.
