The hotel is great fun, but the room itself sucked. Try to request a newly renovated room upon booking.

Liked: Great staff (shout out to Antoine at Public Bar); good music at pool; nice lobby; late checkout 12:30.
Disliked: Room lighting is terrible; room had a weird smell; awful picture above bed of a junked out rocker type; very expensive room service; thin walls.

A place to experience old...

Liked: I’ve never stayed anywhere else in Los Angeles and I don’t much care to. The hotel takes me back to golden age Hollywood. It’s an oasis from the excitement and energy of Hollywood Boulevard, steps from classic bars and restaurants. Oh and the pool is a work of art. Literally.
Disliked: I only wish I could’ve spent more time at the bars and events in the hotel.

Disliked: Added to the cost of the room were general charges for the pool, restaurant, etc, (on top of the usual extra fees and taxes) which we couldn't use as they were closed. No refund given. Staff very unhelpful during the fires - no idea of protocols, evacuation procedures, no help whatsoever. Very disappointing from a large hotel.
