Liked: Staff was warm and helpful. Property was nice.
Disliked: Charge of $20 for breakfast which was basically coffee and a mediocre pastry option. There was a wedding happening in Lobby right below our room. It was incredibly loud and disruptive! We tried to have a nice dinner in restaurant. The noise from the wedding was unbearable and ruined our experience. We were charged for something on our bill when we were told it was complimentary

Wonderful historic hotel in California’s...

Liked: Great location. Parking. The level of service and the quality of the facility was excellent. The restaurant and bar are also excellent.
Disliked: They hit you with a $20 fee at check in. Many hotels do this and I really hate it. Just be honest and include the fee in original charge.

Comfortable and characterful

Liked: The hotel combines historic character with modern comforts very well. Our room was large, bright and comfortable. The bathroom had the usual modern facilities although the shower was a bit temperamental. The complementary breakfast coffee and scones were good (we left too early to sample the hot items which aren't served until 9.00) We didn’t eat at the hotel but we enjoyed a drink at the beautiful old bar and a chat with the friendly bar tender. The location in the centre of town was very convenient, as was the parking right behind the hotel.
Disliked: It would be good if the hot breakfast could be served from 8.00 rather than 9.00.

Nice location

Liked: The rooms were very quaint, but thin walls so you could hear other guests. The bar and restaurant were nice. The breakfast was limited, but good.
Disliked: Even though they have a small parking area in the back for guests, they don’t require a parking pass, so the public use the spaces. I came back, and couldn’t find a parking spot. The front staff told me to street park because they don’t guarantee a spot. It’s on the Main Street so it’s nearly impossible to find anything close. I spoke to one guest who had to park a mile away. That will keep me from staying there in the future.
