Liked: It is a self check in with zero contact with the staffs. The room is clean and the decor is recently updated which is nice.
Disliked: Nothing

Perfect stopping point for us...

Liked: Beautifully renovated rooms. Clean. Charming. Nice touches like warm/cool lighted mirrors, sliding barn doors, tiled walk in showers and nicely tiled and vinyl flooring making you feel like things were cleaner.
Disliked: Bed was too firm for our liking - but bed comfort preferences varies from person to person.

Pleasant

Liked: Staff was very friendly and helpful with local (Walker, CA) intel. We (friend and myself) went to fish for trout on the West Walker River and the Historic West Walker Motel was in perfect proximity.
Disliked: They didn't perform daily cleaning of our room and there wasn't an ice machine. Granted, I haven't stayed in a Motel in many many moons; +20 years, so these missing items might be the norm these days. As I now primarily stay in Hotels, the indicated dislikes are common. Wasn't a "show stopper", but for the price, it would have been nice to have a clean room to return to and complimentary ice.

Liked: Great location. Beautiful little town. Customer service is fantastic. Misty does a great job.

Interior decor great, not a...

Liked: The room was very nice and clean and new condition, bed comfortable, nice bathroom and shower., pretty quiet.
Disliked: Hot water for shower was luke warm and the weather was 30 degrees and cold outside (only 3 room occupied so didn’t think they ran out of hot water?) Seemed like thermostat is set low because it didn’t run out.The code lock is awful the numbers buttons are not lit and very small and impossible to see in the dark but not a big deal breaker had to use my cell phone flashlight but inconvenient when your carrying your luggage. I don’t think anyone was there if I needed help, like the hot water or if the door lock battery was dead or dysfunctional. This happened to me before at another stay and it took the site manager two hours before I heard back from them I was stuck out of my room. This is a new thing now no on site personal, self check in and door codes. Good luck if something isn’t right. I’m pretty sure I saw the onsite family leave at 5 pm Friday night and never returned. The stay where I was locked out they were not there either had to leave a message.Way too many emails sent to me.

An old remodeled 1940s Motor...

Liked: Overall, the room was small, but spotless. The only light in the room was provided by two lamps, but they provided more than enough light. There was also an electric radiator for heat. Plenty of blankets to keep warm, and there was also several USB plugs for my gear. There was also a fridge and a microwave. Check out time was 10 AM, but I texted the owners, and they gave me an 11 AM check out. There is an excellent barbecue place right across the street from the motel. It’s cash only, but they have an ATM, and the food is worth eating there.
Disliked: While , the electric radiator was nice, there was only one place to plug it in, on one side of the room. So it didn’t provide as much heat as it could have. Fortunately, the place to plug it in, was right next to one of the beds. That kept me warm. The TV had a decent sized screen, but there was no remote. I could have texted the owners, and they would’ve gotten back to me, I’m sure, but I had iPads, so I was fine. The bed was a little bit firm for my personal taste, but I know that’s everybody’s tastes are different.

I would stay there again.

Liked: Very clean , updated and easy . Could park right in front and bring suitcase in .
Disliked: Could use a tv guide . Had a bit of trouble with the TV service which the management fixed but then found it difficult to find what was available - spent time searching .
