Superb

Charming, historic place in a...

Liked: Beautiful and charming historic building, great location in the middle of Old Salem. The wine and cheese reception, breakfast and cookies were all nice touches. I also loved the cat that roams in the property!
Disliked: The mattresses were terrible! I wasn’t able to get a good night sleep. I went with a group of friends -4 rooms and all loved the place, but hated the beds! They need to invest on new mattresses or at least a mattress top. Also, the place need some maintenance, some lightbulbs were bury out, bathroom needs attention to detail, etc.

Very nice stay and excellent...

Disliked: We were initially not given the room we booked. The 2nd room had the 2 queen beds we booked but was on the 2nd floor and the elevator was out of order. Both my wife and I are handicapped and the climb was difficult. The sink in the bathroom would not drain properly. For a facility of this level, the breakfast was sub-standard. From the number of things out of order it would appear the property may be having financial problems.

Liked: The staff was incredible—really helpful, really kind. There were lots of welcoming extras like fresh cookies, wine.
Disliked: This is a historic building, which is a large part of its appeal. We visited on a particularly cold night. I would say this hotel is probably not totally equipped for very cold weather.

Liked: We enjoyed that the building is historic and it was beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Disliked: When booking, I was expecting to have a couch. Instead we had 2 wing back chairs.The bedside lamp and desk were falling apart. The floor didn't look like it had been vacuumed. We found tooth picks and pieces of cereal.

Disliked: Bed not comfortable, tv too small, keys didn't work, bathroom need work .
