Staff attitude indifferent; rooms very tired and in need of redecoration. Not one piece of clean glassware or crockery - everything just put on table without checking. Location fine but do not choose this place for a special occasion!

Liked: The room was great, quiet, had lots of storage space, even the the drawers were self closing! The breakfast was very nice, croissants were delicious, generally delightful (although a little expensive). Staff were great. The gardens next to the hotel are charming and the hill side walk is just there. The interior of the pub side is magnificent, like a stately home (when not overrun with punters)
Disliked: Having had a great breakfast, we were looking forward to the meal in the restaurant in the evening. Unfortunately we felt that the choice was very poor. One of us had fish and chips with the fish inside rather thin and disappointing. The other chose a wild boar pie which turned out to be poor. The food was definitely disappointing and overpriced. Our impression is that the breakfast and dinners are catered for completely differently. On the negative side, the bathroom floor was dirty and was not cleaned when the room was cleaned.Maybe also mention that the hotel is on one side of a long dual carriageway, so one way or another you have to go a long way round and maybe sit in a traffic jam.

Enjoyable and relaxing.

Liked: We loved our stay, it was a last minute booking and we were very pleased with our decision. We will definitely book again when visiting family.
Disliked: Friendly staff, lovely comfortable room and great access to Highdown gardens and walks.

Liked: Fantastic place, real find. Set in tranquil settings with ample parking and lovely gardens to stroll round. Staff very friendly and food brilliant. Hotel room was a very nice, clean and had a good shower!
Disliked: Nothing stood out as been wrong with the place to be honest.
