Exceptional stay at The Hawes...

Liked: I recently stayed at The Hawes Inn and couldn’t have been more impressed! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The room was fantastic—comfortable, beautifully maintained, and with all the amenities one could need. The facilities and service throughout the stay were simply outstanding.Breakfast was an absolute delight, and I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant for dinner, where every dish was a real treat. The flavors were amazing, and it was clear the chefs put a lot of care into their creations.I happened to visit with crutches after an accident earlier in my holiday, and everyone went out of their way to be supportive and accommodating. Their kindness and helpfulness made my stay all the more enjoyable.I highly recommend The Hawes Inn to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience. I look forward to returning on my next trip!

Staff in reception and restaurant...

Liked: wonderful location close to train station with plenty options for eating out or coffee close by.Hotel is cosy with nice atmosphere .Great breakfast made better by the lady serving you. Welcomed you each morning and always happy to have a chat. Pity the rest of the staff didn't have similar customer service skills.
Disliked: Very poor welcome at reception, staff quite frosty on arrival. Room was okay but need some attention to flaking paint and mould in the bathroom. We were in room 2 which is accessed from outside at the front. Door locks were a bit awkward to open and in need of improvement.

Rugby weekend

Liked: location was excellent walking distance to local shops and Dalmeny train station
Disliked: we were allocated room four which is basically a very small room attached to the main building, it was very basic and compact.No wardrobes just a very small hanging device.you gain entry through a main outside door, we had problems with our key first night, it broke in the lock, second night, we couldn't get in at all, duty manager eventually sorted us out, could have been avoided as we were told they knew about the problem already.First morning at breakfast, they took the wrong order, not a great start.Great Location, more choices to be had elsewhere about the same prices, probably will give them a try next visit.

Liked: USB ports didn't work damp smell from bathroom and various light bulbs out 30-40min wait for dinner but staff were amazing overall a good hotel just need to pick up on the fine details
Disliked: Long wait for dinner and breakfast
