Excellent Location but more backpacker...

Liked: Great Location in Quiet Street. Close to Fantastic Japanese restaurant and Speights ale house. Free parking. Comfortable beds
Disliked: Exterior suits the historic area, inside resembles a backpacker. Decor is tired and colours in hallways awful. Bedrooms need a good clean, especially around the edges. Rubbish under the bed. Bathroom tap pointed straight outwards, so you got wet every time you turned it on. Reservation their end was incorrect as had asked for 2 single beds which was confirmed on booking.com. When asked if this could be amended got told we hadnt booked it but showed them it had been. Receptionist did go and change the bed configuration for us. No plugs by the bed for charging.

Early Morning Surprise!

Liked: Friendly staff, easy parking.
Disliked: Dated room that needs maintenance. No air con meant room windows needed to be left open. Surprise 4.30 am wake up alarm every day from council guy leaf blowing every morning with a petrol blower! Don't get a room on the street side on level 1!

Modern, spacious rooms, good location

Liked: Our room was in a second floor, renovated, spacious, modern with a beautiful view of the ocean(port)Don't know if all the rooms are renovated but the ones in second floor are.
Disliked: Only thing missing was the food menu from the restaurant. Would be good for their business if they add them to guest's rooms

Liked: I loved everything about the hotel. Enough parking, reception went over and beyond. Rooms always had fresh towels. Good value for money. My favourite was the vintage escalator.
Disliked: Was a little disappointed with the pub lunch menu and the value for the portion size is a bit high.
