Liked: Spotlessly clean hotel, personal touches were much appreciated and the food and service were impeccable.

Slice of luxury great base...

Liked: Staff were really professional but also friendly so it felt luxury. Bed really comfy. Lovely decor in the bedroom. Breakfast was delicious and grounds are lovely. Spa very nice and massage was good!
Disliked: Nothing to say really. If I’m being picky, some background music at breakfast would have been good as was sometimes awkwardly quiet! There was no option to say you didn’t want them to come and clean/tidy your room during your stay

Liked: We loved the upgrade of the room which was lovely The food was excellent And the spa facilities were perfect All the staff were polite and efficient

It was very nice, but...

Liked: Once we were there everything was good, especially the rooms, bathrooms, restaurant. Staff were friendly.
Disliked: I messaged the hotel several times before arrival to change the name of my guest, try to book a meal etc. None of these messages (mainly through booking.com) were replied to, which was frustrating. Despite phoning with my new guest's name, all communications came to the old name, and addressing us by our surnames e.g. "Dear Newton", which I found odd. Either "Dear Dr Newton" or "Dear Helen" would have done. I rang to see if our dinner was booked, left a message and was not phoned back, though the meal turned out to be ok.It felt as though the admin was by a whole series of algorithms with no real people involved, and separate from the actual hotel and staff. Once you met actual people, things were fine. On arrival I was given a room slip booked in someone else's name altogether...

A wonderful hotel, fabulous food...

Liked: This is a gem of a spa hotel. A warm welcome from reception staff. We were then accompanied to our lovely, spacious and elegant room. some thoughtful touches for my husband’s birthday also included. Really enjoyed the cosy relaxing spa. The evening meal was superb, delicious flavours and beautifully presented. Breakfast was just as good too. All the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Disliked: Couldn’t fault this hotel.
