We had a noise problem from other guests, so they moved our room. They were all very good and understanding, though it appeared that the noisy guests had created problems on other nights and police were called out. So why, when knowing that they had a guest issue we were put in a room by the problem, I'm unsure but we were moved very quickly. Decor was a bit hit and miss in some areas and cleaning was an issue. Breakfast was wonderful. if a little slow, but great choice.

A stay of two halves!...

Liked: Second night, perfect. Lovely room, comfy bed, very clean. Wash basin at normal height and shower temperature adjustable! The hotel is in a very convenient location, you just wheel your suitcase across the forecourt from the railway station. Its a short walk to the town centre. Breakfast was comprehensive, and the cooked breakfast extremely generous even the "light" one. It was all nicely cooked and the wait staff very obliging and friendly. Its a shame we had such a bad first night otherwise this would have been a glowing 9 or 10 review.
Disliked: First night. Wash basin almost at knee level with non working plug. Scalding shower, not adjustable. Noisy (in the dead of night), empty fridge which couldn't be turned off because the iced up tiny freezer started to melt when we tried. We asked for a room change. Receptionist claimed all basins in hotel at same level and would not change room, but would send maintenance man to fix shower. Came back in afternoon to be told we had a new room. No apology. Contrary to what we had been told, the new room's wash basin was at the normal height so original room was clearly once wheelchair accessible. We later noticed the door of the original room was wider than all the others which confirmed this!

Good location and staff but...

Liked: Fantastic staff! All of them, especially John and Rebecca, helped me change my room as I couldn't open the windows. I was also upgraded to a family room for no additional cost!The location is excellent as well. It's within walking distance of the main street, and Tesco is just opposite, so it's very convenient.
Disliked: There is an overpowering smell of incense throughout the hotel. It's everywhere!!! I don't know what the management is trying to mask.The hotel is very dated, and the pictures could be more truthful.

Liked: Easy location, cheap car park next door £5 a day, friendly staff in the bar and on receptionist, have stain twice, both rooms were great.
Disliked: Fine while we were there but probably very lively, when a game is one as the closest bar to the train station
