Conveniently situated from arena. Car parking nearby. Nicely decorated. Comfortable beds, pillows. Shame the bathroom in room 103 stank of drains. Due to staying after a concert with a child in tow, it was too late/difficult to complain after 11pm. On check out around 8.30am the morning receptionist was non plus about my comment/complaint and whilst she did say a half heartened ‘sorry’ - it didn’t sound genuine and there was no further conversation to be had.

Liked: Comfortable bed. Plenty of tea/coffee, bedroom supplies.
Disliked: Room 103 - bathroom stank of drains the whole time. Very unpleasant. The morning receptionist provided a weak ‘sorry’ bit wasn’t overly interested.

We had a noise problem from other guests, so they moved our room. They were all very good and understanding, though it appeared that the noisy guests had created problems on other nights and police were called out. So why, when knowing that they had a guest issue we were put in a room by the problem, I'm unsure but we were moved very quickly. Decor was a bit hit and miss in some areas and cleaning was an issue. Breakfast was wonderful. if a little slow, but great choice.

Liked: Staff and breakfast.
Disliked: Decor needing attention.

Unfortunately wouldn’t stay again.

Liked: It felt like we were put in a random room that isn’t usually used, I’d stayed before and had a lovely room so not sure what happened. I’d requested a double room (if not king) and it was two beds pushed together, partner already has a bad back so this didn’t help. Wrote an email to complain to hotel, as expected, no reply. I’m the least fussiest person but won’t be returning here again after last experience.

Disliked: Shelves next to both sides of bed sloping so unable to use.Very cramped around bed area, had to push to bed together in order to access side of bed.Surprised that still using single use travel size toiletries, most hotels these days have refillable shower gel and soap.

Liked: Great location, helpful staff, nice bar, and generally a comfortable and nicely decorated room.
Disliked: Windows are sealed with an aircon system instead of openable windows, but the aircon didn't work, so we were boiling hot. There was no hot water in the shower, which we reported twice, but it wasn't fixed during our stay. The hotel has the potential to be great, but those few things let it down.

Worth a stay!

Liked: Excellent location. Lovely staff. Room was nice with the most comfortable bed and proper pillows!!! Bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover - shaving mirror was cracked, sink was cracked (infection control issue), only one light working and no hook to hang towels (it looked as if there was one on the door but it had fallen off). AC unit could do with repairing too - we didn’t need to use it but it looked like the cover was broken. Would recommend the bar - great service, staff and food!
