Enjoyable stay in a beautiful...

Liked: The room was modern and fresh. Cyan restaurant was lovely, food excellent, staff amazing and surroundings beautiful. Hotel staff all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, huge selection and all well organised, food fresh and very high quality. Really enjoyed our stay.
Disliked: Bathroom needs a shelf. And shower needs a soap/ shampoo holder. No where to put anything. This was the only fault we could find. Bathroom decor lovely, but nowhere to put anything.

nicely refurbished room, terrible night's...

Liked: the room itself was really nice having been redecorated. The breakfast was good too, with a reasonable choice.
Disliked: ok here goes..... as I said, the room that we stayed in (room 129 on the first floor) was lovely. HOWEVER, at around 6pm a party started in the conference facility beneath, which had VERY loud music. We called reception to find out what the noise was and the very polite concierge told us that there was a party and that he would send a member of staff up to observe the noise levels. Staff member knocked on our door and promptly told us that we werent being unreasonable and the noise was extremely loud. We then spoke to the concierge on the phone and he offered to find us another room immediately, which was appreciated. However the room we were offered was horrible (small, old and not what we'd paid for), so we went back to our original room and put up with the noise. this stopped at midnight. Which was nice…… All was going well until around 4:15am when we were awoken by a lovely couple who decided to have a full-blown domestic on the street right below our window. This went on for about 30 mins and we could hear everything that was said. The jist of it was that "Darren" got caught cheating on "Kayleigh" [names changed to protect identities] at a local Brighton night spot. Kayleigh displayed a mix of emotions, cycling between pure rage and infinite sadness. All the while Darren maintained his innocence, trying to convince Kayleigh that he had indeed been framed for this heinous crime, and at one point even WE started to believe his story. It all came to a head when Darren grew tired after 30 minutes of tireless defence and walked off shouting a string of expletives. Kayleigh was left sobbing uncontrollably until she was comforted by some good Samaritans a few minutes later. Worst. Nights. Sleep. Ever.The serious point to this is that The Grand seriously need to invest in some secondary glazing to block out nighttime noise.

Fabulous, most enjoyable and of...

Liked: The staff were all very friendly and extremely professional. The location was great and the breakfast choices were exceptional.
Disliked: The hotel car parking charge was a little too high. NCP close by was ok and cheaper

Overall it was a wonderful...

Liked: Convenience, great staff, very clean comfortable room, excellent breakfast.
Disliked: Shower was great but water leaked out onto the bathroom floor, bathroom door did not shut properly.

Staff & food very good...

Liked: The breakfast was excellent, overall the stay was good
Disliked: I paid for an upgrade to our room, the room was cold, heating not working, seemed more like a down grade, We were moved to another room which was ok.The rooms seem a little worn, the shower control was very stiff, good pressure but I had to turn on & off for my wife, On departure the upgrade cost was cancelled which was appreciated
