Overall Happy
Liked: Lovely old seafront hotel, excellent value for money including breakfast. Room clean and comfortable. Good shower. Staff helpful and friendly
Disliked: Rooms could do with a little tlc/upgrading - but for the price certainly can't complain. Though great view, noisy "boy racers" on seafront into early hours - next visit will probably request a room at back of hotel

Frustrating due to the reasons...
Liked: The room was spacious with great views. Breakfast was a buffet and was an average standard. Location good, close to the Town centre, Pier and beach.
Disliked: I rang the hotel before booking extra nights to check their dog friendly terms. I told the person I was booked to stay with Dance breaks and was looking to stay for 2 extra nights. I was told that it would cost £20 per night for my dog., this was just for her to be allowed to stay, which is double what I have been charged in other more dog friendly hotels. That meant I was paying the hotel an extra £100 over my 5 night stay. When I arrived at the hotel I was told that we could not leave our dog in the room alone. This meant that we would not be able to join in the dancing during the day and evening, IE the main purpose of our holiday. I queried why I had not been told this on the phone. No answer, I was told we should leave our dog in the car, in JANUARY! I had driven 7 hours to hear this. We were also not allowed to leave her in the room whilst we ate breakfast or the evening meal. We had to eat on our own in the bar, not a problem for breakfast but it meant that we could not mix with the other members of our dance group in the restaurant for the evening. We also missed out on 2 nights dancing, ( the dance break itself was for 3 nights ). The dance break organisers allowed us to bring our dog to the lessons during the day so at least we didn't miss out on these. The hotel also allowed us to leave our dog in the room so that we could dance in the evening for the last night. I am not questioning the hotels right to their policies BUT it should have been pointed out to me when I rang, especially when I made them aware that I was coming on a Dance Breaks weekend. The hotel has hosted many of these Dance breaks in the past and therefore they know what is involved, IE their guests will be wanting to dance. Had I been made aware of this policy, I could have made other arrangements or simply cancelled the stay.
