Fantastic location with an excellent...

Liked: The staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The location is fantastic. I really enjoyed the decoration and overall standard of the shared spaces within the hotel. The Hotel has an excellent cocktail bar, which have equally excellent staff. I found this the best part of the hotel.
Disliked: It felt as though no one from the hotel has considered the facilities in the hotel room I stayed in. I was expecting the room to be small as I booked the "Cosy" double, and it was in fact small, but perfectly adequate.My first frustration is the coffee and tea facilities in the room, they have a "station" which is awkward to access and you have to unplug the coffee machine to use the kettle and vice versa (this was exasperated by the wall plug at the desk not working). As this station was placed on a unit under a shelf it made it really difficult to fill the coffee machine. I ended up having to pour water from a glass into the coffee machine, which meant potentially spilling water over electrics. If you want more than one coffee you're out of luck since you're only given one (caffinated) coffee pod.The next issue is the hair dryer cord is an inch too short, making it difficult to dry hair using the only mirror (which is mounted on the wall) provided. My wife did also mention should would have liked a mirror at the desk rather than having to stand at the wall.The bathroom was frustrating to use as well, the shower controls are at the back of the shower meaning you have to lean through to change temperature etc before getting in, I have no idea why these controls would not be put on the side of the shower. The shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are impossible to open with wet hands.The decoration of the room was of poor standard, misaligned wall paper really ruined the overall experience of the room. I wonder if less care or though were put into these rooms as they are the cheapest options they provide.Although all the above may seem small issues, for the price point and the stature of the hotel, I found it disappointing that no-one from the hotel has noticed these issues as they were glaringly obvious to me.

Liked: There are not enough superlatives to express my delight relating to my stay at The Gore so I shall sum up in one - FANTASTIC!
Disliked: Absolutely nothing!
