we would happily book to...

Liked: the hotel was as advertised and as expected the price at £170 for the weekday night was acceptable for its location and facilities
Disliked: Breakfast was declined because it was £24 pp if I booked and £30 if i just walked in. This is ridiculously expensive for a cooked breakfast regardless of what quality the produce !! I would have been happy paying £16pp which is about 40% more expensive than in Gloucestershire where I and may other people from london live. Why are Hotels jumping on the band waggon and adding a discretionary service charge ? service is your job through and through !! come on guys get real. Yes I did take it off !

Authentic hotel, with a great...

Liked: I was recommended The Gore by two people, independently. And it lived up to it. I was upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was very thoughtful of the staff and much appreciated. Room was amazing in its decoration and details. Castle-like experience. Especially the throne toilet was a nice touch. Staff was superkind. Recommend!
Disliked: The rigid opening hours of the restaurant. We live in times where people's days do not adhere to old patterns anymore. This leads to different food/beverage needs during the day. Although I was served very kindly, more flexibility in serving customers at odd-hours will greatly improve the experience.

Extraordinary

Liked: Upgraded to a lovely suite. Courteous and professional staff. Delicious breakfast. Location. Ambience at Bar. Beautiful and quiet British style Library.
Disliked: A/C and Heating control in bedroom.
