Liked: Great location for Royal Albert Hall (Mr David Gilmour did not disappoint) which is literally just around the corner. Old style as was former family home of Gore family (as explained by staff). Full English breakfast to start the day ....

Liked: The location was perfect for where we needed to be. Staff in the hotel were polite and friendly.
Disliked: The shower wasnt great and the toilet didnt flush very well. The pillows on the bed were awful. The bar area was small and we were unable to get a seat on our return from the event we were attending. I would have booked a table as recommended but I did not know what time we would return. Breakfast was very slow service and the staff appeared flustered even though it wasnt that busy with guests.

Liked: The property is beautiful, centrally located, and the staff are very hospitable and friendly.
Disliked: The room allocated to us (109) had all the amenities one would expect from a good hotel. The only reason to score an overall 6 was that the sound insulation in the room is very poor. The first night of the two night stay, we had a constant music hum from the restaurant or bar underneath. The first night we were told that it would be off by 0100. This was rectified the second night by the very apologetic and kind staff members. The second night was a surprise/ shock as we were kept up by the neighbouring room who seemed to enjoy their conversation until 0500 hours in the morning. We had given up on the sleep by then and got up. We grappled about calling the reception but knew that the volume of the guests in the adjacent room was not actually high and that it was a sound insulation issue. Two nights of no rest did leave us frustrated and exhausted. We do expect a certain amount of road noise when in London and respect that the age of buildings can be an issue to make it completely sound proof but do believe a fundamental principle of a hotel is a good sound sleep for the guests.

Liked: Lovely hotel, great little bar with lots of good whisky and rum for pre albert hall drinks. Decor quirky and fab, breakfast was great. Definitely stay here again.
Disliked: Expensive drinks could be a bit more wallet friendly.
