Bad

Liked: Room was OK staff was rude including the owners did not respect my friend whom I paid for over the Christmas period said he wasn't allowed to eat and drink in his hotel room we were going to drop his Christmas dinner off to him ended up eating it on the street as he was not allowed in with it walked down the stairs as the were very creaky and he did not want to disturb the other guests as he is a smoker was the told by security that he can't be walking around with just socks on his feet he had explained why he had done it but he was ignored by security he was booked in for boxing day he had popped out then got a phone call from the owner saying you was supposed be checking out today went in his room bagged all his belongings and left it in the lobby she was very abrupt and rude to him

Lovely hotel marred by poor...

Liked: The building is lovely with lots of character. The room was quite small but as expected for a 2 star hotel. The bathroom was modern and everything was beautifully clean. The location is excellent, right in the centre, near the station and with the bonus of a car park for those who arrive by car.
Disliked: We arrived at 14.55 for a 15.00 check in and through the locked door were told to wait outside in the rain until it was 15.00. Breakfast was advertised as available and I had rang the hotel to check but we were told it was not available on arrival.

Beautiful listed building

Liked: Welcoming lady at reception. Very helpful and charming. Lovely location, though we were just staying close to relatives for Christmas. Wonderful cathedral minutes away.Room was small, but comfortable with very good amenities. Tea/coffee/milk provided, plus some biscuits and a mince pie!

We would come here again!

Liked: Location, very old traditional building.
Disliked: The water was very hot in the shower and couldn’t adjust it.

Liked: We had an excellent stay here - friendly staff and a great location. Comfortable room with coffee machine and a wonderfully big bath
Disliked: Nothing

Nice weekend but wouldn’t have...

Liked: Nice clean room and bathroom, good size, staff we spoke to very friendly and polite, restaurant was shut so didn’t have any food but there’s plenty of places in the high street,
Disliked: Had a front facing room which was so noisy till about 2.30am with people coming out of the pubs and clubs so had very disturbed nights, hotel is ok but would benefit from an update.
