Very good

Good value for a short...

Liked: It’s a bed and breakfast lodging, quiet, small and well fitted out with kettle, tea, coffee etc. Modern bathroom with shower over bath, clean, lots of hot water, fluffy towels. Central heating very effective. Comfy bed with duvet, double, didn’t measure it, on the smallish side maybe 4’6’? Fits the bedroom. Bedside tables little kneehole desk, two upholstered dining chairs and small table under the window. No carpet, floor parquet. Little fridge contains fresh milk, orange juice, pack of ready charcuterie, very handy if you’ve brought your own drinks. Breakfast (£8.50?) waiting on arrival if you’ve ordered it, in a hamper containing croissants, cereal, jam, butter etc. Cafetière and filter coffee, hot chocolate, plus crockery and cutlery. Seems unfair to criticise it at the price, but it’s pretty basic, especially the croissants which were not good, and the absence of fruit. I stayed here for two nights, would do so again. Host is friendly, interested and helpful.
Disliked: Nothing much to report, couldn’t get the tv to work. Host said it’s an intelligent one, so maybe provide some instructions in the room info.

Exceptional

Liked: The location was perfect, the apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We notified the owners of a time we would arrive, and they kindly text us details of our room and door code so we could access it if they were unavailable. They could not have been more helpful or friendly.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Great place to stay if...

Liked: Comfortable room nicely furnished, had bath with shower, and a fridge. Easy parking there. The owners are currently improving the property so I expect the garden will soon have improvements. Quiet rural spot. Local pub closed (Sunday evening) so went into Chard to get some dinner. Breakfast was left for us in the fridge and on the table.
Disliked: Forde Abbey is close but not open on Mondays!

One night in Chard

Liked: Greg was really helpful and everyone we came across was super helpful.the rooms were very comfortable and very quiet. we were only there for one night but it suited us perfectly.

Great little get away, nice...

Liked: I liked how friendly the owners were, the fact that you were able to come and go as you please and the fact that they gave you a card for the golf club (we didn’t go but it was a great touch!)
Disliked: A more powerful shower and perhaps more modern furnishing but that’s nit picking in all honesty.
