Liked: I have staid in the hotel off and on since I was a child and it was called the Hotel Robert E. Lee. Although I did not approve of the name change I was happy that the new owners kept the doors open. The location cannot be beat as it is close to restaurants, museums, and walking tours.
Disliked: The bed was lumpy and disgusting. The pillows smelled of body oder. I had to put my head on the pillow that smelled the best, but all four stunk. The mattress looked like the rolling ocean and slept like a bag of rocks. I woke up with an extreme back ache. Since the name change of the hotel there were no maps or magazines highlighting area attractions which indicates no appreciation for the local color. There were also no ice bags to recharge your cooler; this was an old amenity that made me smile. The breakfast was sad. Nothing to cook but bagels...not one egg in sight.

Charming & Convenient

Liked: Convenient location close to shops & restaurants. Ample parking in the area. Interesting historic charm to the property - especially the phone booths in the lobby.
Disliked: Beds were uncomfortably firm. Walls of rooms were thin - could hear neighbors talking. Bathroom sink is tiny and slow to drain.
