Passable

Liked: Lovely bar area, friendly staff and nice selection for breakfast. Comfortable bed and pillows.
Disliked: £40 to bring our two small dogs seemed excessive compared to other places but I was happy to pay. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn't leave them in the room unattended due to a dog recently causing damage to a room. This meant we had to completely change our evening plans. We travelled two hours to attend the Bedgebury Christmas lights and would NOT have chosen this place to stay had we known that the dogs couldn't stay unattended for two hours. When we returned, it was far too busy to enjoy a drink in the bar with the dogs, so we ate supermarket food in the room and just prayed for morning to arrive so we could go home. Rules are rules which I respect, but they should have explained this when I enquired about bringing the dogs, and I could have made a decision to suit our needs. Shame really because it looked like a lovely place to enjoy a drink. Staff all friendly, no complaints there.

Exceptional

Liked: The hotel is lovely. Traditional and old and decorated to suit the age of the building. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for a couple of evenings and had breakfast every day. The menue not massive but there's plenty of choice. The food is very good. The staff are professional and helpful and so friendly and kind.

Disliked: The road could be quite busy and the room above ours was very noisy. Not a quiet room.
