Good

Liked: Checking in was easy, staff very friendly, evening meal and breakfast was lovely.
Disliked: It needs a fair bit of money spending on the whole place, outside was Tatty, large windows needed cleaning, interior needs updating to easier to maintain furnishings.

Lovely family run place

Liked: The service was excellent, very friendly and welcoming family run business. The food was fantastic and excellent value for money. A little bar area with a log fire to enjoy. The room was clean and the location was just outside Aberwystwyth, exactly what we needed for a 1 night stay after exploring the area.

A good option for an...

Liked: As a 2 star traditional pub with rooms this place has a lot to offer and is to be recommended. The landlord and landlady are welcoming and personable. The hotel is comfortable with a dedicated restaurant and residents lounge. The bar has a log fire in winter and the beer garden has a spectacular view across a valley with waterfalls to the Cambrian mountains beyond with displays of red kites. Food includes home made pies and Welsh lamb broth. I really enjoyed the full Welsh breakfast which included old school 'Army' fried bread: job done for me. Don't be put off by the condition of the outside which needs a little bit of tlc because it is what is inside that counts.
Disliked: I enjoyed the Brains IPA but it was a bit too cold for me.I needed some gravy with the pie!The TV was in full working order but it could do with an upgrade to a 43 inch wall mounted TV.
