Passable

Liked: Location was good, on the water just a short walking distance from the main street. Free parking at the hotel. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was acceptable. Bed comfortable and area quiet overnight.
Disliked: The standard of cleanliness was not acceptable. The carpets in the common areas looked like they had not been hoovered in some time. We changed rooms initially because there were nail clippings on the floor when we arrived. Not particularly friendly accommodation for babies/young children. No cot available. High chair in the restaurant available but also looked like it had never been cleaned properly.

Liked: Breakfasts were sweetly served and reasonably good. Room would have been fine without problems. Location good.
Disliked: We booked a regular room and then asked for and were given a waterview for an increase in the rate. However, the room was outside and down stairs in winter weather. We had to step over construction materials, some with nails sticking up. We also spent a full day under roofers!!!! This after a night of rowdy guests who kept us up in the night. We were told when we spoke of the roofers that we could have asked for another room and they would have moved us. There was no offer to reduce our rate from the increase for example or lower what we paid or an apology or a statement like, we failed in not calling you and offering another room if you wanted...It was up to us it seems to call and ask to be moved. There's also truth to that, but I would have liked more coming from management to acknowledge what we had been put through. Also the water in our bathroom never got cold.
