The Founders Inn and Spa Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Virginia Beach

They charged a random one dollar to my card and 25$ for "missing cards" that they did not inform me needed to be turned in. Our door did not lock - we would close it and it just needed to be pushed and it'd open. It's a very old hotel and not for young adults. They also accused us of smoking in the room and charged an additional $159 for a smoke smell in the room. However we did not smoke in the room. A smoke smell stays on clothes and will linger a bit but nobody actually smoked inside the room and I was charged. My experience was very bad with my very short stay there. The cab ride was $25 one way to Farm Bureau Live. Thank you for reading.

Disliked: When I was checking out they did not ask for or tell me that the card keys would cost $5 extra per card if they were not turned in. The bathrooms were small and only two towels were supplied.

Liked: If you're going to a concert, it is a good price for how close it is to the venue (Farm Bureau Live).
Disliked: Front desk was nice, but reservation department failed to call me back several times and was overall difficult to work with.

Liked: Great for concert - about $25 cab ride. Excellent service.

Liked: We had an issue with our reservation that it took a while to resolve but the staff were exceptionally helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Liked: The property is beautiful, especially in the fall when the leaves change. I had my dog with me and very convenient that there is a dog park on the property.
Disliked: I felt my room could be cleaner and there were not enough toiletries provided on my 1st day.

Disliked: Much of what is advertised on the booking.com page for this hotel is WRONG and it greatly disappointed my expectations bc of this. No hot tub, no kitchenette in the room (there are photos on the website?! staff told me they’ve never offered this), I was charged for my “complimentary breakfast” and the outdoor pool is closed most of the year. Every time I asked the staff about the things I was promised in my booking I was told this was all booking.com’s fault for misrepresenting their property. So yeah, pretty disappointing
