Liked: Great location and big bedroom
Disliked: $100 per night security deposit. Should have been notified clearly about that in advance. I stayed for 3 nights so $300 dollars off of my spending money straight away. I was travelling from Scotland and pre loaded dollars into my travel card before I came to avoid foreign transaction fees. After checkout I was travelling to Puerto Rico for 7 days and 3 days into that and still waiting on my $300 dollars being refunded. If I had known about it beforehand I would have loaded more money onto my travel card. Glad I was only staying 3 nights, as paying 6 or 7 hundred dollars up front would have been a problem.

Disliked: One morning the elevator was shut down, causing us to have to carry our luggage down 5 flights of stairs. It was also very loud at night due to the bar below.

Disliked: heard the club in the courtyard at solas even with the windows closed phone in room was inoperable… sometimes long wait for elevator

Disappointing Experience with False Charges

Disliked: I stayed at Fairwind Hotel recently, and while the property itself was decent, my experience was ruined by an unfair charge. After my stay, I was billed for two water bottles from the minibar that I never touched. When I disputed the charge, the hotel sent me a photo of three open water bottles as “proof.” These were clearly tampered with and not something I used during my stay.It’s deeply concerning that they might be reusing these photos with different customers to justify baseless charges. This practice feels dishonest and unprofessional. Guests shouldn’t have to worry about being scammed like this—it completely ruined my trust in the hotel.If you stay here, be extremely cautious. Inspect the minibar thoroughly upon check-in, take photos as proof, and ensure no one can accuse you of things you didn’t consume. I will not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel.
