Ok for a short stay

Liked: Rooms are very dated, but it is in the middle of a renovation, so will be much nicer when completed, the best thing about this hotel is their staff who are amazing, we had a problem with our room after 1st night so we were moved to another room without any hassle, we just packed our stuff up and the housekeeping staff moved it all when other room was ready! So 10 out of 10 for the staff
Disliked: Breakfast wasn't the best, and the continental selection very poor, cereal or fruit, coffee was awful and lukewarm in a thermal jug

Great value for money and...

Liked: Nice room and much quieter than I had expected given that it was on a roundabout. We were on the back over the car park and there was no noise at all. Felt safe parking and walking around the area. Lovely room and comfy bed.
Disliked: Public transport into Barnsley was no good on a Saturday night and we ended up having to drive in which was a pain.

Poor rooms and definitely not...

Liked: The property from the outside looked very inviting and the restaurant was a decent sizeThe wedding room was set out beautifully and we enjoyed our night in there
Disliked: The rooms were a throwback to the 60s, tired and worn. If we hadn’t been staying for a wedding I would have asked for my money back. We were given a disabled room, which was worn and old with mirrors and taps like you get from school. The lamp was faux leather and peeling with a broken lampshadeOnly 2plug sockets in the room both of which were so close to the built in table below we had to bed our phone chargers to get them in.Certainly won’t be returning to this hotel for an overnight stay

Liked: We feel very comfortable when we stay at Fairways. Great place to meet up with our family who live in the area.

Liked: The staff were friendly & helpful.When we asked to move rooms, because the window latch was broken, there was no problem & sorted it straight away.The room was clean & the beds, comfortable
Disliked: There was no USB plug in the room to charge our phones (we had forgotten our adaptor plug)
