A great place to stay...

Liked: A characterful place, full of history, great location on the Coast to Coast walking. Staff were polite and friendly; bedroom was comfortable, we had a door opening to the garden; dinner and breakfast were good.

Liked: The food was lovely. The garden view and dining room was nice. The bedroom and decor was extremely dated. There were no toiletries which indicate this is a Country House Hotel. There was no complimentary water in the room. Much of the lighting in the bedroom did not work. The hotel needs to be repainted.
